How it brews
Bring the hot water. It does the rest.
The Ermona espresso maker does not heat water. Fill the tank from a kettle or thermos, lock the coffee holder in place and press the button. The battery powers a built-in pump that pushes the water through the coffee and into the cup that screws onto the base.
So there is no wall socket involved at the moment you brew, which is the point on a campsite, in a car or at a desk. Plan for the hot water: we would rather you knew that now than after it arrives.
Grind and froth
Fresh grounds, then foam.
The electric grinder has a numbered external dial from fine to coarse. Set it, press once, and it grinds straight into the clear jar.
The handheld frother whips milk into foam in seconds, which turns a shot into a latte, a cappuccino or a flat white.

How to brew
Five steps to a latte.
- Grind. Turn the grinder's numbered dial to choose your grind, fine for espresso, then press once to grind into the clear jar.
- Fill the basket. Spoon the grounds into the filter basket with the powder spoon and tamp them down.
- Add hot water. Pour hot water from a kettle or thermos into the water tank. The maker does not heat it.
- Brew. Lock the holder in place and press the button. Your espresso flows into the cup on the base.
- Froth. Dip the frother whisk into your milk for a few seconds, then pour it over the shot.
Care and charging
Keep it simple.
- The brewing parts unscrew for rinsing. Wipe the main units, and never submerge them in water.
- Each device charges over USB with the included cable. No wall adapter is included, so use any USB charger or power bank.
- The devices contain lithium-ion batteries. Charge with the supplied cable only.
- Take care with hot water when filling the tank.
