Pressure
Twenty bar, from a cell.
Espresso needs pressure, and pressure is the thing most travel brewers quietly give up on. The Ermona maker pumps at twenty bar, which is what puts crema on the surface instead of a thin, over-extracted cup.
Hold the button and it does the rest. There is a four-level indicator on the body so you know what charge is left before you commit to a shot.
Grounds or capsules
Whichever you brought.
The maker takes two baskets. One holds ground coffee, so you can grind fresh with the burr grinder in the set. The other takes a capsule, for the mornings when you want the cup without the ritual.
Both swap in the same body. Nothing else changes.
Cleaning
It comes apart.
The brewing assembly unscrews into its separate parts, so the pieces that touch coffee can be rinsed properly rather than wiped and hoped for. The body carries an IPX5 splash rating for the inevitable moment at the campsite tap.
One caution: the main unit holds the battery and the pump, so it is splash resistant, not submersible. Cover the port plug before you rinse it, and never put the body under water.
